Doug Henning, Ph.D.

As a psychologist my goal is to assist clients in improving the quality of their lives, as well as provide understanding and insight into human behavior.  Change in attitudes and feelings often follow specific/guided action to improve our circumstances, thoughts and behavior patterns.  For 30+ years I have helped people from many different backgrounds and life experiences make significant changes in their lives. My primary approach to psychotherapy derives from a combination of Cognitive Behavior, Person Centered and Developmental principles.  My belief is that the therapeutic relationship requires teamwork between the client and therapist working in partnership. For the last 19 years I taught and supervised undergraduate students and graduate level therapists in the use of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavior Modification, and other evidenced based modalities in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, coping with and adjusting to Traumatic Brain Injury, and coping with chronic pain from injuries and disease conditions such as fibromyalgia. I am a Licensed Psychologist.  I have a Ph.D. from Oregon State University, an MA from Pacific Lutheran University, and a Clinical Fellowship in Rehabilitation Psychology at the Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City.
