Daniel Malley, D.O.

My name is Daniel Malley. I am 33 years old, born in Boston, raised in Los Angeles. I am currently a Transitional Year Resident at HCA Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL. Prior to this, I completed my clerkship training in Queens, NY, and attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2021. I attended UC Santa Barbara for my undergraduate education. Before UCSB, I worked with autistic children as an Applied Behavior Analyst in California. It wasn’t until my senior year that I realized I wanted to become a physician. However, I was only a few months away from graduating with my degree in Psychology. Switching majors and having to enroll for an additional two years was something I could not afford. I decided to get a full-time job to support myself while completing the necessary prerequisites for med school as I was able. It certainly took longer going this route, but the years I spent working taught me invaluable lessons on balance, self-reliance, and hard work. Most importantly, it made me truly appreciate this journey of becoming a physician. I love music, whether it be making music or simply listening to music while driving on a nice day. I have played guitar since I was 13, and recently started teaching myself the piano. I also love sports and enjoy attending live events whenever I can. My family moved from California to Virginia while I was at LECOM, so I guess now you could say I’m from Virginia. However, my sports passion will forever lie in my place of birth, Boston. I am very passionate about the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics, but I also enjoy soccer and mixed martial arts. I have also always been fascinated by nature and geology, so I am very excited to get to move to one of the most scenic states in the US.
